Program objectives
The objective of the DPEP is to enhance the profitability of dairy farm operations by
assisting them in putting together a diagnostic team, evaluating their dairy farm
business, and helping them implement farming practices that will improve their dairy
operation, increase their farm's profitability, and improve their quality of life.

PROGRAM COST
Dairy producers participating in the DPEP pay a yearly enrollment fee of $200. Grant
funds allocated through the Minnesota Department of Agriculture cover additional
program costs. Scholarship funds are available to producers to help them reach their
goals.
WHO COULD BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM?
- Farm families that wish to increase already high profitability
- Farm families going through transition with new procedures and potential unforseen problems (parlors, freestalls, TMRs, etc.)
- Farm families transferring ownership from one generation to another
- Farm families with production or profitability that have reached a plateau. They have been at the current level and want to make changes
- Farm families that are currently experiencing negative cash flow and are drawing on previously earned equity
- Farm families searching for options or alternatives
